Dear Heather Way Condominium Owner(s),

As you are likely aware, the Board has faced several time-related challenges during recent months to ensure that HWCA is in full compliance with the Florida’s Sunshine Laws, House Bill (H.B.)1021.

H.B. 1021 imposes new rules and regulations impacting all board members in carrying out volunteer services on behalf of the Association. The Bill was approved to better regulate transparency requirements of COA Boards with respect to reporting on owners’ interests.

The new regulations entered into force on July 1 and are published on the Florida Senate’s website. The link is: https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2024/1021. 

One of the most demanding obligations was a requirement for all current major documents and future actions posted and available to owners, and in some cases to tenants, on a dedicated Heather Way Condominium Association website by July 1, 2024. The website has been completed.

Our HWCA domain name is: http://www.hwca-verobeach.org.During the past three months, we have repeatedly requested, in meetings, via emails and posts on the bulletin board, that owners take immediate action to personally register on the link provided in the upper right-hand corner of the landing page (see below). All future HWCA communications will be sent to individual owners and tenants (when appropriate) via this channel. Owners will also have password-controlled access to individual files related to their condominium properties.

To date, many owners have neglected to register as owners on the site. Please do so we can communicate effectively as a community. If there is any confusion regarding the registration process, please contact the Association’s Secretary.
